Job Summary:
The Social Media Supervisor (UK & EMEA) reports into the Social Media Manager (UK & EMEA).
The role of the Social Media Supervisor role is to support the Social Media Managers within the Cross-Company Social Team with the planning and execution of social media content and campaigns across UK and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) in order to maintain and grow the core brand social media accounts. This includes encouraging brand affinity, leveraging social media audiences to drive awareness for key initiatives and business objectives and to drive conversion (where applicable). This will involve liaising with stakeholders across all lines of business, sourcing and briefing social media assets, advising on campaigns, copywriting, engaging with fans and overseeing content uploads. It is also the responsibility of this role to monitor performance to ensure KPIs are delivered and to communicate and share results, learnings and insights to inform future activity.
This role requires a thorough understanding of all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and YouTube; as well as an interest and knowledge of new and emerging platforms, trends and developments within the social media landscape. This includes understanding how different audiences interact with platforms, knowledge of current trends and the ability to advise teams on how they can optimise content to fulfil business objectives.
Additionally, the Social Media Supervisor will also manage day-to-day liaison with external creative agencies, including the briefing of audience-first social content. This involves monitoring latest trends / platform innovations and feeding them into creative brainstorms, while also ensuring all deliverables are compliant with brand, best practice and legal guidelines.
The Opportunity & Responsibilities:
The Social Media Supervisor (UK & EMEA) will support the Social Media Manager (UK & EMEA) with the delivery and execution of social media marketing activities across Disney brands and all areas of the business.
Primary responsibilities of the role are:
- Supporting the Social Media Manager with the execution of social media campaigns and projects. This includes briefing key stakeholders, planning content roll outs and coordinating / distributing assets.
- Copywriting for social media posts (across multiple social media accounts, tailored to different audiences)
- Sourcing / briefing / localising social media assets for use on TWDC accounts, including working closely with external creative agencies
- Monitoring and updating key stakeholders on latest trends, formats, innovations, and new opportunities within the social space
- Identifying opportunities for proactively engaging fans and building community
- Managing competitions from start to end; ensuring all activity meets required legal standards and is within approved guidelines
- Analysing content performance and sharing insights / recommendations to inform future content and campaign planning
- Upholding best in practice social marketing standards, whilst ensuring all local markets across EMEA also adhere to best practice guidelines
- Managing team finances, including raising POs and tracking spend
- Overseeing content publishing
The Experience We Require From You:
- Demonstrable experience in: creating or briefing social media content; copywriting for social media platforms for a business / brand; managing social media communities; and contributing to the growth of social media accounts
- Knowledge of social best practice and the latest platform developments / trends
