As a Production Specialist/ Trainee Production Specialist, you will work as part of a multi-skilled team providing technical, craft, operational and administrative skills across all areas of the news service, primarily based at our newsroom and studio in Norwich.
To be eligible for this role, candidates will ideally be multiskilled and familiar with video editing or live studio operations. Proven skills in, or knowledge of areas including editing, programme timing, vision mixing, sound, directing, capturing media, production administration or scheduling is an advantage.
You must be willing, and have the aptitude, to develop new skills (with appropriate training) and to move between different duties on a daily basis as the needs of a busy and vibrant news operation requires. You’ll also be happy to share your own skills with others.
The rostered hours will include weekend working, late shifts as well as early morning shifts and Bank Holidays.
As a Trainee Production Specialist, you will be a highly motivated individual as well as friendly and approachable. You will be committed to working as part of a successful team, sharing the responsibility for supporting news production. Above all you will be an excellent communicator who is quick thinking and calm under pressure with strong and decisive decision-making skills.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the minimum role criteria below, or if applying as a trainee an awareness of the skills and what they entail will be required.
- Relevant experience to the role and skills in at least two of the following areas: Editing, sound, bulletin directing, programme timing, vision mixing, or capturing media
- The ability to multi-skill under pressure
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team
- Confident and clear communication skills
- Proven ability to learn and apply new skills
